Welcome to the second ever monthly goals report where I will share all my personal and professional goals for the upcoming month.
After following Stephen at Project Life Mastery I have found a ton of value in reading others goals.
It’s my hope that you can take away something from this report that will help inspire you to achieve your own goals.
Why Share My Goals?
There are so many benefits when it comes to sharing your goals with others.
The first reason is accountability. By hitting publish on this post my goals are now available for the world to see and hopefully will keep me accountable on days I’m not as motivated.
Law of Attraction
After attending “One Day to Greatness” with best selling author Jack Canfield and spent a ton of time focusing on how to achieve our goals.
One way is by sharing our goals with others.
How many times have you set a goal, kept it to yourself, and eventually stopped caring or didn’t achieve your goal? It’s so easy to do when you don’t share your goals with others. It takes an incredible amount of self-discipline.
How to Frame Your Goals
After reading countless books on psychology, goal setting and visualizations there is a ton of research behind two words: “I am.”
What you say about yourself eventually becomes true, in essence, you are a self-fulling prophecy.
If you have negative self-talk you will attract more negativity and be less likely to achieve your goals.
On the other hand, consistent positive self-talk can improve your life dramatically and become a positive self-fulfilling prophecy.
This is why I will have every goal in the form of a positive “I am” affirmation.
Here is a recap of my November 2017 goals:
November Goal Recap
Goal: I am easily making $3,500 or more by November 30th.
—->Did not meet, more on my November income report but I did alright in November. I also planted a lot of seeds for more work in December and coming months.
Goal: I am easily receiving 20,000 monthly page views to my blog or something better.
—-> Did not meet, my traffic dipped slightly. Honestly, I didn’t focus as much on the blog as I was trying to create new freelancing work. But I still earned around $400 in Google Adsense and now have a solid strategy to get more views in the future. I also am guest posting more and was featured on Millennial Boss and Fearless Motivation!
Goal: I am easily recording 8 Youtube videos or something more.
—-> Did not meet, I didn’t film a single video! But I put together a list of videos I will create and have a plan for my future Youtube channel 🙂
I am easily pitching 30 or more times to new job boards and clients.
—-> Did meet! I pitched a lot of job boards, cold emailed, and applied on Upwork. I got some one-off jobs but also spent time strategically guest posting for more backlinks to this site.
I am easily finishing in the top 5 at both tournaments or something better.
—-> Did not meet! The talent for pro golf is so good it’s amazing. But instead of being let down I am more motivated than ever. I had two of my best tournament rounds ever and gained a ton of confidence.
So I only hit one of my five goals…was November a failure?
When you set huge goals they are tough to attain in a month, especially a month with a major holiday!
I’m proud of making major progress in all areas and more excited than ever for December.
Here is my December 2018 monthly goals report:
Goal: I am easily making $11,000 or more by January 31st.
Ideally, this would be half each month but I think more will happen in January. I’m going to start a lot of new things this month that will hopefully work out in January.
Here’s how I plan to increase my monthly income:
After attending several workshops I learned a ton when it comes to affiliate income. I plan to find new affiliates, new ways to promote my affiliates, and revisit “Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing.”
If you’re a blogger and want to learn how to make more money from your blog be sure to check out her course here.
Freelance writing is a major source of income but I currently only have a few clients. Similar to only having income from your job it’s never a great idea to rely on … Especially when it comes to freelancing clients.
I recently landed a new client here locally and am actively pitching more.
Goal: I am easily recording 8 Youtube videos or something more.
I want to record eight Youtube videos to help promote my blog and grow my brand on a new platform. Everyone learns differently and some people hate reading but love video or podcasts.
That’s why I started my Youtube channel last month and published a few videos.
While I love writing, I also like the rawness of videos. Not every blog post I have created is “Youtube worthy” but a lot of them have a ton of good topics.
For example, my post “Death By Monthly Salary – How Your 9-5 is Killing Your Dreams” went viral on Rockstar finance so I created a video about it as well.
Video versions of blogs will allow new people to find my site and learn more about my site and mission to help others.
Goal: I am easily being featured on 5 or more new websites.
I won’t lie, I have been horrible at guest posting on other sites. After attending FINCON I realized how stupid this was…if you’re a blogger or freelance writer you need to get your name out there!
Last week I submitted a post to Fearless Motivation and was accepted the next day! Yesterday I got featured on another motivational site, Goalcast!
While it can be intimidating at first my attitude is “nothing to lose.” As Jack Canfield says, “Rejection doesn’t exist. You never had it in the first place.”
Goal: I am successfully launching my golf website.
As I continue on the road to professional golf I am learning so much and want to help others!
Obviously, this website isn’t for golf but I feel I can help tons of others with the sport. After publishing Scratch Golfer 2.0 this year I am launching a website in December.
I want this to my online “golf home” and also started freelance writing on the golf field.
Without goals, it’s hard to live up to your full potential and accomplish all that you want in life.
I hope that seeing my goals will help you find ways to create new goals and help you achieve more of them.
If you have any goals that you want help with please let me know and I’ll do anything I can to help you.
Do you regularly set goals…if so, how often do you achieve them or forget about them?
