Today is a weird but exciting day for me, it’s the last Monday at my job. The last one! Thursday will be the last day of my six year career. But instead of going to work for another company I’m going to work for myself. I’ve decided to get out of my comfort zone and quit my six figure job to live life on my own terms.
If you’ve followed this blog for a while you know I’m a huge personal finance geek (as well as superhero geek) so rest assured I’ve planned this out financially. Well kind of, I have a good amount saved up but I don’t have any consistent income coming each month. Instead I’ll be blogging, writing more books, freelancing and really anything else I want to experiment with online. I intend to try nearly everything and see what life is like outside the job world.
I’m sure some projects will work while others will fail miserably. I don’t intend to make as much money as I currently do at my job at the beginning. It took me six years to get to this position. I have accepted there will be a learning curve and that I will fail at some things.
It’s only a failure if you don’t learn from it right?
The best part? I will be documenting it all in my blog and on social media. I want others to learn from my mistakes and see what it’s like on the other side. Again, I’ll cover it all with brutal honesty. From my day to day events (what do people do if they’re not chained to a desk?), my accomplishments, my failures, and monthly income reports. I’m 99% excited and 1% terrified but think I’ve set myself up for success. My book will be a major focus on promoting and look forward to trying out different ways to spread the word.
Also my book, “Advice for My Younger Self” is now on Amazon for sale in both paperback and now Kindle. The book is a great read for new grads or anyone who wants to set a foundation in their life. It covers personal finances as well as excelling in your professional career, easy fitness tips, and ways to improve your personal life.
