Tony Robbins. A lot of words come to mind when people hear his name. After the Netflix documentary, I am Not Your Guru’s release many more people have been exposed to his seminars. I won’t get into content to much as it’s hard to sum up 50 hours in one article. Instead I’ll share my day to day experience.
A Great Start To The Event
I flew out from Phoenix, Arizona on Thursday, the first day of the event. After a quick flight I was in an Uber heading to the event. In the LA traffic I got talking to my Uber drive who was very jealous I was attending the event. He had a passenger last year after the event who told him how life changing the event had been. We bonded over entrepreneurship, podcasts and self development. He mentioned that sometimes he’d go into Barnes and Noble to read books as he couldn’t always afford them with three kids.
Once I was getting dropped off I realized I had to help. After reading some of Tony’s stuff previously I knew he philosophy was “the secret to living is giving.” I decided to give my driver my copy of “Unshakeable” that I had purchased a few weeks ago. I felt great about paying it forward.
Once I got to registration is was organized chaos. People everywhere, good signage and event team members high fiving everyone. I got checked in under 10 minutes as it was only 745am with the event not set to begin until 12. The best part? My registration bag included a copy of the book I just gave away. Talk about instant gratification for paying it forward? I knew it was a sign to start a great weekend.
