Amazon is the best. I’m sure most of you have Amazon prime, if not why not? It’s the best $99 per year ever! Not only does Amazon make it way too easy to buy stuff (without going out into society) it also helps writers become authors VERY easily. Today my first ever book is live, I can officially say I’m a published author thanks to CreateSpace. This is a subsidy of Amazon and helps writers become authors.
Once I started writing for Super Millennial I got hooked on the writing part. In my quest to understand my own personal finances I also read a ton of personal finance books. My favorite books were short, practice and easy to apply to my own life. One of my favorites was, “Why Didn’t They Teach Me This in School.” I realized after reading it that I had to write my own book.
This is where my first book idea ever was born, “Advice for My Younger Self: The Successful Habits for Health and Wealth.” I wanted to create a book that was simple, easy to read, and useful for people who wanted to create habits for success. Personally, I feel there is a huge gap between what is taught in our education vs. the real world. It’s not easy to navigate the real world. From managing your finances, finding a career, staying in shape and finding a balance in your personal life it isn’t easy. That’s where this book comes in. The book is broken into four sections: personal finance, professional, personal and fitness. Here’s a quick synopsis of each section:
College forgot to teach us anything useful towards money management and personal finances. After half a decade in college (Yes, I was a 5 year kind of guy) I learned nothing about personal finances. Once I started to take my finances seriously I realized I had no clue where to start for retirement.

All of these questions and much more will be answered in this book. If you’re a reader of the site you know this is a passion and one I will continue to have. My goal is to help others simplify their finances and live a better life with less stress.
A large portion of the book is spent on personal finances as money shapes all our lives in some way or another. If you can control your finances you will have a better life. Of course, everyone wants to earn more but more isn’t always the answer. The real truth is that people need to have a plan for their money. This way you don’t let money stress you out and negatively impact your life. The finance section breaks out step by step what to do with each dollar that comes you earn. It will not only show you how to save for your goals, invest towards your future and live a great life.
Once you have your finances under control you will have more time (and money) to spend on other areas of your life. Fitness is an area that I’ve focused on SO much in the past 10 years and seen such a positive impact. Besides looking and feeling better exercise has become my anchor for the day. It’s how I start each morning and get myself in a great state to conquer my goals. In this section, I’ll show you some easy ways to meal prep, plan your workouts and set yourself up for success.
Once you master your money and your body you can really conquer your professional career. This section focuses on advancing in your career and continuing self-development. It’s easy to watch Netflix every day after work but you need to find your passions and pursue them. The professional section will help you navigate the workplace and learn the benefits of self-education.

The final section will focus 100% on you! It’s all about finding a balance between all of the previous sections and your personal life. It will show you how to create and plan your bucket list, travel, enjoy time with family and find ways to give back.
Why I Wrote This Book
I wanted to create a product that I would have handed to my younger self (hence the title). If I had started all the habits I do now I would have found much more success at a much younger age. Hindsight, of course, is always 20/20. The book isn’t just for the 18-year-old heading off to college. It’s for anyone who is trying to find structure and create positive change in their life.
I’m not saying I know it all or have life figured out at 29 years old. I have implemented or done every single “habit” in this book and have seen a tremendously positive impact in my life. These habits have led to the following changes in my life:
- Increased my net worth over 5000% since 2011
- Became a homeowner at 27
- Held a credit score over 800 for five years
- Create a morning routine for fitness and
- Advance to the highest sales position at my company
My success hasn’t been accidental, it came from my habits. If I can do it, YOU can too! The first habit was understanding finances. Once I mastered finances I was able to spend more time on my health, career, and relationships. I hope this book helps people find easy takeaways to implement and improve your life. Whether it’s financial, professionally, or personally. I want everyone to have a great life filled with health and wealth.
